Cathie McDaniel
Cathie received her Masters and Post Masters coursework in clinical counseling from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. Cathie is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Alabama. She has been with Catholic Family Services (CFS) since 2015. Prior to her position with CFS, Cathie worked at Trinity Health Systems in Behavioral Medicine for 8 years. As a clinical counselor in the hospital setting, she worked in-patient mental health conducting group, individual, and family therapy. She coordinated and facilitated a mood disorder intensive outpatient program under the direction of two hospital psychiatrists. Cathie was the Employee Assistance Counselor for the hospital campuses, the City of Steubenville fire and police departments, Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel company, Barium Chemical company, Titanium Alloy company, and Mittal Steel. Cathie did contract counseling with a suboxone clinic and provided group therapy for a substance abuse IOP program. She was the liaison for the graduate counseling program for Franciscan University and the hospital.
She utilizes current counseling theories and blends mind, body and spirit when working with clients. She adheres to Catholic social teachings and is a practicing Catholic in the Huntsville, Alabama area. Cathie has had training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques.
