Catholic Family Services (CFS) is a state-licensed adoption agency that has been in existence since 1928. Our services are offered regardless of Christian religious affiliation and our program is a ministry of the Catholic Church. We are primarily an infant adoption agency that places infants of all ethnicities and backgrounds with both couples and singles. Our agency offers opportunities for social media marketing for perspective adoptive parents through an affiliation with Parentfinders, an agency dedicated to bringing birth families and adoptive families together through their multiple websites.
A sliding scale fee helps to make adoption affordable for many adoptive parents, and our professional and caring staff is committed to providing you with all of the information, support and services you need to build your family through adoption. You can depend upon us through every stage of the often confusing and overwhelming adoption process.
Domestic Infant Adoption Program Services The process of adoption is wonderful, trying, exciting and frustrating. You can start the process by contacting the agency nearest to you to be placed on our inquiry list. This may be immediately or it may be months, depending on the number of approved families to whom we have already committed. As soon as we can begin a home study, an adoption worker will contact you and schedule the first interview. There will then be a series of interviews, joint and individual, as well as in office and in your home. With each new interview you will be given paperwork to complete and return to your worker. Once the study has been completed and approved, you will be notified and then be considered for any available and appropriate infant based on your preference. Although the time varies to complete a home study, it normally takes three to four months. It is a major commitment by the applicants and the agency social worker. International / Independent Catholic Family Services also offers independent adoption/home studies, post-placement visits and reports for those working with out-of-state agencies for both domestic and international. We work closely with your attorney or adoption agency to ensure that your adoption/home study is complete.
